قال الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، يوم الجمعة، إن بلاده تجري مفاوضات مع إسرائيل بشأن اتفاق أمني قد يعيد الالتزام بتفاهمات عام 1974 أو صيغة مشابهة، مؤكداً أن هذه المفاوضات «لم تنته بعد». وأضاف الشرع، في مقابلة مع قناة «الإخبارية» التلفزيونية، أن إسرائيل اعتبرت سقوط النظام السابق بمثابة خروج سوريا من اتفاق 1974 «رغم إعلان دمشق منذ اللحظة الأولى التزامها به»، مشيراً إلى أن تل أبيب اختارت ما وصفه بـأنه «الجانب الأكثر أمناً بالنسبة لها» عبر قصف مواقع مدنية وعسكرية «وهذا غير مبرر». وأكد الشرع أن سوريا راسلت الأمم المتحدة وطلبت من قوة فض الاشتباك العودة إلى وضعها السابق. وأوضح الرئيس السوري أن بعض سياسات إسرائيل بعد التغيير السياسي في سوريا «تعكس حزنها على سقوط النظام السابق»، مضيفاً أنها كانت تريد أن تبقى سوريا «ساحة للصراع مع الإيرانيين وميداناً لتصفية الحسابات». وعن العلاقة مع طهران، قال الشرع إن سقوط النظام السابق أدى إلى إخراج «الأذرع الإيرانية» من المنطقة ودخول العلاقات السورية الإيرانية في «حالة من البرود»، مضيفاً أن «الجرح مع إيران أعمق لكن لا نقول سيكون هناك قطيعة دائمة بيننا وبين الإيرانيين». وأشار إلى وجود روابط وثيقة بين سوريا وروسيا، مشدداً على أن العلاقات من المهم أن تُبنى على أساس السيادة السورية واستقلال قرارها. وأضاف أن الإدارة السورية الجديدة ورثت ارتباطات متعددة مع روسيا «وينبغي الحفاظ عليها وإدارتها بطريقة هادئة ورزينة». وأشار الشرع إلى أن سوريا لا تريد أن تكون في حالة قلق أو توتر مع أي دولة في العالم، وأن سياستها تقوم على «البحث عن الهدوء التام في العلاقات مع جميع دول المنطقة والعالم». وأكد الرئيس السوري أن بلاده «لا تقبل القسمة وأي طموح في استقلال أو ما شابه ذلك»، وقال: «إذا أراد شمال شرق سوريا أن يذهب إلى نوع من التقسيم فإن ذلك سيضر العراق وتركيا».
