بيان صادر عن فريق “ذاكرة إبداعية للثورة السورية” بخصوص إلغاء معرض “معتقلون ومغيبون” في محطته السابعة بمحافظة طرطوس
قبل موعد الافتتاح بنصف ساعة تقريباً، تبلغنا من محافظة طرطوس بقرار يقضي بتأجيل الافتتاح تارة، وبإلغاء المعرض تارة أخرى، دون تقديم أي مبررات أو تفسيرات واضحة؛ علماً بأن المعرض حائز على جميع التراخيص الرسمية اللازمة من وزارة الثقافة ومديرية الفنون الجميلة، بالإضافة إلى التراخيص المحلية من محافظة مدينة طرطوس ومجلس مدينتها.
وبعد نقاش ومراجعة مع المسؤولين الذين حضروا إلى الموقع بناءً على طلبنا لاستيضاح الأسباب، تبين أن لدى المحافظة تحفظات على بعض محتويات المعرض، حيث طُلب منا سحب الكثير من اللوحات، وهو ما وجدناه يتعارض تماماً مع رسالة المعرض ومضمونه الإنساني والفني.
إننا إذ نوضح هذه الحيثيات، نتوجه بجزيل الشكر والتقدير والامتنان والمحبة لكل من شاركنا هذا اليوم، من أهلنا في طرطوس من مختلف الشرائح والاهتمامات، والذين تجاوز عددهم 150 شخصاً انتظروا لأكثر من ساعة ونصف أملاً في الافتتاح.
وهنا حرصنا على إقامة الجزء الترحيبي من الفعالية بما أتيح لنا من ظروف، حيث قدم “كورال نهاوند” مجموعة من الأغاني التي تحاكي روح المعرض رغم انقطاع الكهرباء وإجراءات الإغلاق، وذلك بحضور من الصحفيين والمصورين وممثلي وسائل الإعلام الرسمية والمحلية.

Statement by the Creative Memory of the Syrian Revolution team regarding the cancellation of the seventh stop of the exhibition “Detainees and Disappeared” in Tartus.
Roughly half an hour before the scheduled opening, we were informed by the Tartus governorate of a decision to postpone the opening and then, at other moments, to cancel the exhibition altogether without any clear justification or explanation.
This happened despite the fact that the exhibition holds all the official permits required from the Ministry of Culture and the Directorate of Fine Arts, in addition to local permits from the Tartus governorate itself and the city council.
After further discussion and review with the officials who came to the venue at our request to clarify the reasons behind the cancelation, we learned that the governorate had reservations about some of the exhibition’s contents, and we were asked to withdraw a large number of artworks; a demand entirely at odds with the exhibition’s message and its humanitarian and artistic substance.
We therefore extend our deepest thanks, appreciation, gratitude and affection to everyone who stood with us today: the people of Tartus, from every walk of life and background, more than 150 of whom waited for over an hour and a half in the hope that the exhibition would open.
Given the conditions, we were determined to hold at least the opening bit of the event. The Nahawand Choir performed a number of songs with the spirit of the exhibition, despite the power cuts and the measures taken to shut down the event, in the presence of journalists, photographers, and representatives of official and local media outlets.
We felt it was necessary to offer a clarification.
